The SFCC is known for the Panthers, its athletic fighting insignia. It is known to participate in different fields like volleyball, baseball and softball. The athletic program in this school is so active that there are intercollegiate activities where everyone can participate. Categories include women’s volleyball, men’s baseball and women’s softball. SFCC (South Florida Community College)

If you consider yourself as an eligible student, then there is nothing hindering you from going to SFCC because of the “Open Admissions” policy that they implement. This means that everyone can go there provided that he is armed with a high school diploma or an equivalent paper that is deemed acceptable in Florida standards. Enrollees and transferees need to show a valid high school transcript or a college transcript, whichever is applicable. If you are 16 years or above and is out of school for legal reasons, you may enroll for the programs on certificate on continuing education. After the requirements have been met, you are ready to earn your college credits in the field that you choose.

The South Florida Community College, established in the year 1965 is located at Highlands County, DeSoto County and Hardee County in Florida. To date, the College is serving more than 19,000 residents with its existing location. It is built on 226 acres of land that is two miles at the south of Avon Park in Florida. To the north of the college is Lake Lelia and to the south is Lake Glenada. To the west of the college is the US Highway 27. It is a public college that offers various associate’s degrees interspersed in over 60 different fields. There are also course offerings like bachelor’s degree and master’s degree. There are also doctoral degrees and specialized education that tries to mix the traditional classroom and the online setup. After a four year course you can continue on to postgraduate study easily. To top it all off, there is an active athletic program where the students and faculty can enjoy.
